How Bopier works

Last updated: April 18, 2026

Bopier turns a plain-English prompt into a shareable AI mini-app. Anyone who opens its link fills a short form, an LLM runs your prompt with their answers, and either emails them the result (if they're a visitor) or streams it on screen (if they're signed in). That's the whole product. Below are the details.

01 What is a bop

A bop is a small AI app you describe in natural language. Bopier reads your idea and auto-generates:

  • A title, description, and icon.
  • A form — up to 8 fields the user fills in.
  • A system prompt that references the form values via {{field_id}} placeholders.
  • A public URL at /app/<slug>.

Every bop is public from creation. There is no draft state. You can edit any of the generated pieces afterwards.

02 Creating a bop

Go to /create. Paste a prompt you already have, or write one from scratch. Hit Magic generate. You'll be redirected to the editor, where you can tweak the prompt, form fields, and label before sharing.

Behind the scenes: your idea is validated against what bops can do (a form → text-generation loop). If it isn't feasible — e.g. you asked for audio generation or a multi-step agent — you'll get feedback and a suggested rewording you can apply in one click.

03 Running a bop

Open any bop's URL, fill the form, submit. The LLM runs with your answers substituted into the system prompt. The charge lands only after the first chunk streams back successfully — failed runs cost nothing.

Runs are delivered in one of two ways, depending on who's running:

  • Anonymous visitor: result is emailed to the address submitted in the form. Also creates a lead row you (or the affiliate) can see in the dashboard.
  • Signed-in user: result streams on screen. No email, no lead — it's a personal prompt tool.

04 Three viewer modes

The same /app/<slug> URL behaves differently based on who loads it:

  • Owner — you opened your own bop. You're sent to the editor. Test runs are free and don't hit quota.
  • Internal — you're signed in and not the owner. The form runs in your account as a prompt tool. Result streams on screen. No email, no lead. Counts against your monthly runs.
  • Visitor — you aren't signed in. Lead-magnet flow: you leave an email, the creator (or affiliate) gets the lead, and you get the result by email.

05 Affiliate links (?ref=)

Any signed-in user with a username can share a bop as an affiliate link of the form /app/<slug>?ref=<your-username>. When an anonymous visitor arrives through that link and submits, the lead can be attributed to you — depending on who has quota (see next section).

On any bop you don't own, the Copy link and Share buttons automatically include your ref. No extra step. If you don't have a username yet, one is auto-provisioned on first visit so the link always works.

Invalid refs are ignored silently. If someone shares ?ref=ghost and ghost isn't a real username, the bop runs as if there were no ref — no error to the visitor.

06 Leads and attribution

Leads follow the payer. When a visitor submits, a billing cascade picks who's charged:

  • Referrer first — if the URL has a ?ref= and that user has quota, they pay and the lead is shared (creator + referrer both see it in their dashboard).
  • Creator fallback — if the referrer is out of quota, the creator pays (if they have quota) and only the creator gets the lead. The referrer sees a "lead lost" counter in their dashboard.
  • Platform absorb — if neither the referrer nor the creator has quota, the platform runs it for free. Both parties see their "lead lost" counter tick up. The visitor still gets their result.

The rule is deliberate: an execution never errors out from lack of quota. A visitor always gets a result. Attribution is settled behind the scenes.

Signed-in users running someone else's bop do not generate a lead for anyone. It's personal use.

07 Trial, plans, and billing

New accounts get a 7-day free trial with the same run quota as a paid month. No card required to start. When the trial ends, you can subscribe or top up with a one-time balance purchase — see /billing.

Runs are charged against the payer picked by the cascade above. Owner test-runs from the editor are free. Failed runs (model errors before the first chunk) are not charged.

08 Limits and fairness

  • Per-app rate limit: 120 runs per hour per bop, across all viewers. Protects the creator's quota from spam.
  • Platform-fallback cap: 50 platform-absorbed runs per hour per bop. Shields the platform from affiliate spam against out-of-quota creators.
  • Form size: bops have up to 8 fields. Keep prompts focused — longer inputs cost more per run.

09 Privacy and data

If someone submits via your affiliate link and you end up with the lead, you can see the email and answers in your dashboard. The full policy (including what the creator sees, how long data is retained, and how to request deletion) is in Privacy. The contractual side is in Terms — affiliate attribution is covered in section 14.

10 FAQ

Do I need to "apply" to be an affiliate?

No. Any signed-in user with a username has an affiliate link for every public bop. Share it and you're in.

Can the bop creator block me from referring their bop?

Not yet. We reserve the right to disable affiliate attribution globally for abuse.

Do affiliates get paid?

Not by default. Affiliate attribution captures the lead — what you do with it is up to you and the creator. Cash rev-share is on the roadmap but not shipped.

Can I clone someone else's bop?

Yes. Every bop has a "Clone" button that makes a copy under your account, linking back to the original as a "Cloned from" credit. You can then edit the clone freely.
